"Upload Multiple Documents" option is not available in a document library in SharePoint Server 2013

Problem Description:
Assume that you access a Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 document library through a computer that has Microsoft Office 2013 installed. When you try to upload multiple documents to the document library, the Upload Multiple Documents option is not available in SharePoint Server 2013.

Analysis:
- Upload multiple documents is an important option which is present in MOSS2007, SharePoint Server 2010, SharePoint Foundation 2010 as well so i am really shocked to see that why this option has been deprecated from SharePoint 2013.

Resolution/Workaround:
To work around this issue, do one of the following to upload documents to the SharePoint Server 2013 document library:
1)    Use the Windows Explorer view
2)    Use the SharePoint Server 2013 drag-and-drop functionality

How to use Explorer View:

1)    Click new document.
2)    In the dialog box that appears, click Upload files using Windows Explorer instead.
3)    A File Explorer window opens for that library.
4)    You can then drag files from your computer into the File Explorer window.

Note: This option requires the Internet Explorer web browser and if you are using Office 365, you’ll need to select Keep me signed in when you sign in.

How to Use the SharePoint Server 2013 drag-and-drop functionality:

1)    First, open the library on your site.
2)    Then find the documents on your computer that you want to upload, select them, and drag them to the space in your library where it says, drag files here.

Note: If you don’t see the option to drag and drop files, install the latest version of your browser software or Microsoft Office 2013.

This feature requires either Office 2013 or the latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome.

Please let me know in case of any queries/questions. I would be more than happy to help you as well as resolves your issues, Thank you J J

SharePoint 2013 Installation and Training

Microsoft releases a major version of SharePoint every three years. There are some downsides to this approach, but one definite upside is that when the releases do come around, those of us who work with SharePoint every day tend to get a bit excited.

So it was with much anticipation that I took a close look at the recently released SharePoint 2013 Preview. My initial take is that this is a significant release with a ton of great new features to talk about.

Next thing come to my mind is about training. After the installation, if we need to learn the basics of each feature and functionality then it is very important to know the functioning of that feature and that can be learn by means of valuable training which has been provided by Microsoft as well as Stefen Gobner.
