ReplyDeleteHi Amol Bhai i am also getting the same issue but when i apply this update i get an message " This Update Does not Apply to Your System"
ReplyDeleteis this happening on all Servers?
DeleteDid you choose the right version? There are different versions for Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2!
ReplyDeleteIf you have downloaded the Win7 version (which should be OK for Server2008R2) and you get the message that "the update is not applicable" just search in the following location on your server for Webengine.dll :
C:\Windows\winsxs
after finding this file check if the version is higher than the mentioned version here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/979917
if you are having a higher version than 2.0.50727.5007 that's the reason why you do get that error. It means you do not need to apply the update since it has been already applied.
Hi Yes this Version is higher than the specified by you ... But how should we resolve this error ? I am not using R2 ... Its a normal 2k8 64 Bit Enterprise with SP2
ReplyDeletecan you please provide bit more details on failing servers? How many servers are showing this message and what's their current version?
DeleteHi Mike Sharepoint is at SP2 level and Windows is 2008 with SP2 again. There are 2 servers in the farm only WFE is showing thhis error message.
