ReplyDeleteif you move the documents by means of Explorer View/Windows shared view/manual copy and paste then Yes-the version history will be lost but if you move the documents by means of content and structure then the history will be carried along with the documents.
ReplyDeleteMihai,
ReplyDeleteare you sure that you have activated the features by means of site collection as well as by 'manage site features' ?
If there is still some problem then make sure you check the template customization.
which template you are using?
did you reproduce the issue on team site template?
also-did you tried activating the features by using stsadm/powershelll?
let me know your views, Thank you
I have an issue wherein i can't see options such as move, copy, delete etc in the Manage Content and Structure Page when i opens the site using "http". However, it works fine with https? Any idea?
ReplyDeleteis this happening for every site collection?- pls clarify...
Deletewe can check the AAM once you are sure that it is happening for every site.
if it is happening for a single site then we need to check from the server as well as is it behaving the same or not?
pls let me know your thoughts on this so that we can proceed further.
Hi Amol,
ReplyDeleteThis is happening for only a single site collection. Interesting thing to notice is that,on few machines only it has this behaviour. I am using same account everywhere. Also i am using IE8 on all where on some it is working and on some it is not. In Firefox it is the same situation. What change on server you think is required?
Thanks
thank you for the detail explanation.
Deleteif this is happening only for few machines then there is nothing to do with the server.
the problem is machine specific. nothing to worry about server/account related.
what i can suggest is- try to revert from IE8 to IE7 on one of the machine and test the results. i think this will resolves the issue.
i have seen such weird behaviors previously where IE8 was the culprit.
please check and let me know the results. thank you
If I use manage content and structure to COPY lists to a new library will it preserve the history? somehow we are losing version history. Thanks
