Hi there,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the information.
I have a problem at step 3. When I select the User Profile Service Application and select Manage I get the following error "an unexpected error has occurred."
Do you know why I got this error and how to solve this?
Thank you,
Kind Regards,
Marli
Please go to your log file and check the error ..You will find more information about the error associated with the Correlation Id you mentioned above
ReplyDeleteyou need to look up the correlation id in the ULS log and post the details back here in order for us to help figure out what is going on
This error usually occurs when, under Manage Services on server, the two services for User Profiles aren't started.
Go to Central Admin --> System Settings --> Manage services on server. Check if User Profile Services and User Profile Synchronization Services are started.
another reason:
It also occurs if you have provisioned a user profile service and you have not 'restarted' the server
Hi Amol,
DeleteThe log file that I went into didn't have any Correlation Id's in - I searched for it in the file. Where are the log files that you are talking about?
My User Profiles services are started.
I also did a iisreset on all the servers.
Thank you,
Marli
The logs location that i was talking about is C:\program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\Logs
DeleteI hope that you had already checked the status of User Profile Synchronization service.
Could you please restart the servers and check the results agai? Thank you.
Hi Amol,
ReplyDeleteThank you, I found the logs. I don't know exactly what went wrong and at first I couldn't delete the User Profile Service Application. But eventually I could, recreated a User Profile Service Application and the problem was fixed!!
Thank you,
Marli
Excellent. Thanx for the confirmation...
DeleteHi Amol,
ReplyDeleteI also had the problem/error "There has been an error creating the personal site."
My solution was (after alot of reading and trying alot of different things) to create the My Site site collection on the root of the web application "SharePoint - 80". I didn't know that there should be site collection at the root but this fixed my problem.
Note: I'm only publishing as anonymous as I don't have the other options (usernames, etc.)
Thank you,
Regards,
Marli
